Havana, November 24 (RHC--) Cuban and Portuguese business executives signed on Tuesday a memorandum of understanding to promote joint business interests.

The directors of the Center for the Promotion of Foreign Trade and Investment, ProCuba, and the Portuguese Agency for Investment and Foreign Trade (AICEP) signed the text digitally. It will serve as a tool to expand bilateral trade over the next two years.

The Director of ProCuba, Roberto Verrier, and the AICEP,  Luis Castro, signed the document. The memorandum seeks to improve the conditions of business cooperation and to promote foreign investment between both countries.

Adopting this memorandum is considered an example of what can be achieved in crisis conditions, such as those faced at the international level.

\Portugal traditionally supports Cuba in its condemnation of the US economic, commercial and financial blockade, ratifies its rejection of the activation of Title III of the Helms-Burton Act, and is among the 10 European countries that export to the Caribbean island.
