Havana, May 26 (RHC) -- Experts and health professionals from several countries are attending today the opening session for the 3rd International Conference on Infectious Diseases, which will be held in Havana until Wednesday, May 28th.
Scholars from the Netherlands, Switzerland, Colombia, Mexico, Panama and Cuba, among other countries, will analyze the impact on human and animal health of diseases such as Leptospirosis, syphilis and Borreliosis, as well as promoting strategies for their control and prevention.
The event is sponsored by the World Health Organization, the Cuban Institute of Tropical Medicine Pedro Kuri and the Cuban Ministry of Public Health.
Cuba is expected to exhibit the positive results of its National Animal Health Promotion Program “Zoonosis” as well as advances in the national campaign to prevent the reemergence of leptospirosis in the island.
