Havana, Mar 30 (RHC) Cuban Ambassador to Buenos Aires Pedro Pablo Prada held a meeting on Tuesday with Argentine Health Minister Carla Vizotti. They advocated strengthening bilateral cooperation in the sector.
During the meeting, both officials stressed the importance of relations in health matters, especially in the context aggravated by the Covid-19 pandemic.
The Caribbean diplomat explained to Vizotti the strategy promoted by the Cuban government to face the epidemiological situation and the management of Cuban science, which currently has five vaccine candidates, two of them in phase III clinical trials.
Both parties also talked about the possibility of forging alliances to produce these inputs and the transfer of technology.
Vizzotti undertook to organize a meeting with the National Immunization Commission to review the two most advanced Cuban vaccines: Soberana 02 and Abdala.
They also discussed the agenda of the trust fund signed between Argentina and Cuba five years ago to purchase medicines and vaccines in exchange for the purchase of food products.
Likewise, Prada and Vizotti agreed on the need to continue strengthening the health systems of both countries.
