Miami, June 13 (RHC)-- Some 53 percent of citizens in the U.S. state of Florida support the lifting of the over-50-year U.S. economic, commercial and financial blockade against Cuba, according to a recent poll by Public Policy Polling.

According to a report by the Miami New Times website, the pole reveals that only 22 percent of Floridians support maintaining Washington's hostile Cuba policy.

In an article published on Thursday, the local publication says that despite different political affiliations, “the idea of ending the embargo has support across the spectrum, with 57 percent of Democrats and 42 percent of Republicans.”

A poll by the Atlantic Council last February found 56 percent of all U.S. citizens supporting the normalization of relations with Cuba and on that occasion the number of Floridians supporting the move reached 62 percent.
