Havana, May 31 (RHC)-- Cuba called for a permanent articulation of public media among the countries of the Bolivarian Alliance for the Peoples of Our America-People's Trade Agreement (ALBA-TCP).

During a virtual gathering of Executives of public mass media Waldo Ramirez,  head of the Cuban delegation, called for an operational interconnection of television and radio stations, multimedia platforms, news agencies, and print media.

The first vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television called for a relationship to speed up the exchange of contents and joint editorial lines on topics of interest.

Everything that can be promoted from ALBA-TCP is valid. We must work for a united Latin America and the Caribbean', said Ramirez, quoted by the Deputy Director-General of Press, Communication, and Image of the Caribbean nation's Foreign Ministry, Ileana Fonseca.

The Cuban representative also thanked the support and solidarity of the member countries in the fight against the blockade imposed by the United States.

The meeting discussed the role of the media of the regional entity in cases of coup d'état, the articulation of communication, and the importance of working as a conglomerate.

In this sense, the executive secretary of the block, Sacha Llorenti, called to consolidate the strategic unity in the scope of a 'revolutionary and moral trench of ideas.'

Llorenti called to accompany the Government and people of Cuba in their struggle against the economic, commercial and financial siege on the eve of the vote in the United Nations Organization of a resolution against that hostile policy, scheduled for June 23.
