Havana, Jun 4 (RHC)--The first secretary of the Communist Party of Cuba (PCC), Miguel Díaz-Canel, on Friday called to reinforce the bases of the organization as an essential step to materialize the ideas and concepts of the Party’s 8th Congress.
According to a local television report, in a meeting held in Havana with PCC leaders, the President stressed the importance of consolidating the moral authority of the political group through work and solving the problems, and addressing people's concerns.
The grassroots structures must promote honest, open, and free debates, without dogmas, without prejudices, and with participation on all issues that generate concerns among its members, said Díaz-Canel.
He added that they should pay special attention to those issues on which they consider that a change is needed or they can provide solutions.
The President stated that the country is currently working under difficult conditions. Still, “with the concept that nothing is impossible, adversity cannot slow us down or discourage us”, he said.
We have to rely on our effort and talent, insisted the head of state and added that Cuba not only resists but does so creatively to continue moving forward.
