Kenyan Health Minister visits scientific institutions in Cuba

Havana, June 8 (RHC)-- Kenya's Minister of Health, Mutahi Kagwe, was briefed on Monday about the progress made in the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic during a visit to Cuba's National Center for Scientific Research (CNIC).

Kagwe received information about the five vaccine candidates developed by the Caribbean country to prevent the disease caused by the SARS-CoV-2 coronavirus. Soberana 02 and Abdala have already completed phase III clinical trials.

According to the CNIC's Twitter account, Kagwe and his delegation will also visit the Center for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology (CIGB) , dedicated to developing and commercialization of biotechnological and pharmaceutical products.

The Kenyan official will also visit the Immunoassay Center, in charge of researching and producing strategies and technologies for disease screening.
