Cuba reports 3 475 new COVID-19 infections and  15 deaths

Havana, July 3 (RHC)—Cuba reported over the last 24 hours 3 475 new infections of Covid-19, surpassing the 200,000 mark since the beginning of the pandemic. There were 15 deaths.

The National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran said in the nationally televised briefing that 18 448 confirmed patients were hospitalized on the island by midnight, an expression of the increasing trend of people being diagnosed due to the third wave and the strains circulating on the island.

Cuba now accumulates 200 728 cases and 1337 fatalities since March last year.

Matanzas reported 971 cases, Havana 426, Camaguey 347, and Sancti Spiritus 321 cases.

The health intervention with the homegrown anti-Covid-19 vaccine continues nationwide.  Some 1 450 000 people are fully vaccinated. And 6,5 million doses have already been administered.
