Cuba reports 3819 new COVID-19 infections and 26 deaths

Havana, July 8 (RHC)-- Cuba woke up Thursday with the worst indicators in the history of the COVID-19 pandemic: 26 fatalities and 3 819 new infections.

The National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, said Thursday that there were 21 091 confirmed cases hospitalized, a demonstration of the epidemiological complexity the Caribbean nation is going through.

Cuba now accumulates 218 396 cases and 1431 deaths.

Matanzas diagnosed 1 327 new cases, Havana 645 and Santiago 387. These were the territories with the highest infection rate.  

As of July 6, 1.7 million people were fully vaccinated with Cuban vaccine candidates, and some 9 million doses had been administered island-wide.
