Cuba reports 9629 new COVID-19 infections, 80 deaths

Havana, August 3 (RHC)—Cuba reported on Tuesday the diagnosis of 9629 new infections of COVID-19 and 80 fatalities over the last 24 hours.

The National Director of Epidemiology, Dr. Francisco Duran, said in his daily briefing that the Caribbean island now accumulates 413 251 cases and 2993 fatalities associated with the viral disease.

Likewise, 45 966 active patients remain hospitalized both in health centers and in their homes.

Havana reported the most cases with 1698.  It was followed by Ciego de Avila with 1434,    Cienfuegos with 978 and Camaguey with 622. The last three central provinces have become the hotspot of the pandemic on the island.
