Havana, August 30 (RHC)-- Cuba is making progress in the vaccination of its population against Covid-19 in the face of the complex epidemiological scenario generated by the viral disease.

According to Public Health Minister José Ángel Portal, by the end of August 28, 13 million 593,168 doses had been administered in the country, and 31.8 percent of the population had the full schedule of the national vaccines Abdala, Soberana02, and Soberana Plus.

Portal presented an evaluation of the behavior of the pandemic last week, during which a decrease in the number of confirmed cases was observed. However, he said, the daily deaths remain high.

This is evidence of a very complex epidemiological situation, hence the need to advance in the population's vaccination, he said.
