Cuban President thanks Laos for donation to Frank País Hospital in Havana

Havana, Oct 1 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel thanked the Peoples Democratic Republic of Laos for the donation sent to the Frank País Hospital in Havana to fight Covid-19.


 

Through his twitter account, the president expressed his gratitude to the "brothers from Laos" and reiterated his country's support to that Asian nation.


 

The dignitary highlighted the work of the assistance center that received the solidarity aid, which during the pandemic received more than 19,500 children infected with the SARS-CoV-2 virus, the cause of the disease.


 

The day before, the ambassador of Laos in the Antillean nation, Anouphone Kittirath, upon delivering the cargo consisting of food and cleaning products, ratified the admiration and love of her people for the Cubans.


 

He also highlighted the development of vaccines in the Caribbean country and the immunization campaign in spite of the obstacles imposed by the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the U.S. government.


 

He affirmed that this symbolic aid is a sign of the brotherhood and affection that unites the two countries, which share strong bonds of struggle; and he recalled Cuba's support to achieve the independence of Laos.


 

The director of Frank País Hospital, Dr. Roberto González, referred to the affection, admiration and solidarity that the Asian nation has maintained for years with that institution.


 

Meanwhile, the Vice Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, Déborah Rivas, thanked the donation and in general the collaboration of Laos, a sign of the bonds of friendship and brotherhood that unite the nations. (Source: Prensa Latina)
