Beijing, October 12 (RHC)-- The Chinese government donated five thousand tons of rice to Cuba and is preparing conditions to send them shortly, diplomatic sources informed.
The island's embassy in China said that the shipment is currently being processed at the facilities of the Jiangxi Jingia Grain Corporation and will be transported by sea in the coming weeks.
He added that Chinese authorities made a symbolic delivery of the consignment to Cuban officials, thus demonstrating a new gesture of solidarity and friendship between the two countries.
Apart from this donation, since last July, China has sent several shipments of sanitary products to Cuba to support the fight against the Covid-19 pandemic.
Particularly noteworthy was the contribution of 30 pulmonary ventilators and 150 oxygen concentrators.
