Havana, November 3 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister says "COP26 is our best opportunity to avoid climate catastrophe. In this endeavor, developed countries must take a decisive role under the principle of common but differentiated responsibilities."

Bruno Rodriguez called on Twitter for practical climate actions and fewer empty promises. He referred to the issues discussed at the 26th Conference of the Parties (COP26), which is in session until November 12 in Glasgow, Scotland, with representatives of 120 nations.

"COP26 requires concrete and ambitious commitments to curb global warming. 1.5°C downward arrow. Industrialized countries, the largest emitters of greenhouse gases, cannot shirk responsibility with timid promises," he added in another message.

Rodríguez Parrilla also denounced that "the existence of the human species and the planet's future are at stake.

The COP26, which is the largest and most crucial climate-related conference globally, aims to carry out the implementation guidelines of the Paris Agreement to limit global warming to 1.5 degrees.
