In the letter addressed to the Minister of the Interior of the Generalitat, to which Prensa Latina had access Hurtado decried the daily demonstrations staged in front of the Cuban Consulate for seven months, in contravention of host country guarantees accorded to foreign missions,
In the text, addressed to Joan Ignasi Elena Garcia, Minister of the Interior of the Generalitat de Catalunya, the filmmaker assured that death threats, hate messages, insults, humiliations, and all kinds of offenses against the Cuban officials and diplomats have taken place against the consular facility during this period.
"These events, which are of public knowledge, ignore that these officials develop a life, they have a home, families with minor children who have been left in a situation of vulnerability," she pointed out.
In her letter, the young filmmaker demanded the end
of such provocations and the compliance by authorities of the agreements of international conventions and national legal regulations.
