Moscow, November 19 (RHC)-- The Russian Deputy Foreign Minister, Serguei Riabkov, and the General Director of Bilateral Affairs of the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emilio Lozada, called for the strengthening of binational cooperation, the diplomatic service of the Eurasian country informed.

In a meeting on Thursday in Moscow,  both officials discussed substantively priority issues of the ties between Russia and Cuba and other issues on the regional and international agenda.

Riabkov and Losada confirmed the interest of both countries in deepening exchanges in a wide range of development areas based on the spirit of the strategic alliance that defines relations between Russia and Cuba.

Last November 15, in statements to the press, the spokeswoman of the local Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, expressed her country's rejection of interference in Cuba's internal affairs regarding the destabilization plans organized by the United States against that Caribbean nation.

The representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry pointed out that the consequences of the unprecedented tightening of Washington's blockade against the island are being completely silenced.

"The radicals led by Washington and Miami are deliberately provoking social unrest, speculating on the population's weariness with the existing difficulties," she said.
