Camagüey, January 7 (RHC)-- As part of a joint project with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), 348 isolated houses affected by Hurricane Irma in 2017 will be provided with solar panels in localities of the province of Camagüey.

The photovoltaic systems to be installed have a capacity of two thousand watts (W), with a useful life of five to eight years. They admit inductive loads since household appliances that run on electric motors can be used, explained Juan Carlos Lacaba Jofre, director of Renewable Energy Sources at the Provincial Electric Company (EPP).

He pointed out that the assembly of this equipment will be carried out by EPP's specialists and workers, with priority in homes where women live, and in rural communities in the municipalities of Minas, Nuevitas, Sierra de Cubitas, and Esmeralda, all located in the north of the province.
