Havana, January 10 (RHC)--On behalf of the people and government of Cuba, and Army General Raúl Castro, President Miguel Díaz-Canel congratulated Nicaraguans on the victory of Daniel Ortega in last November's elections.

The President told the press that we are very happy to arrive on Nicaraguan soil, a sister country, a friendly country, a people we know.

Referring to the electoral victory of the Sandinista Front, the Cuban leader asserted that  "It also demonstrates the anti-imperialist conviction of the Nicaraguan people and their decision to continue advancing in the profound political, social and economic transformations that the Government of Reconciliation and National Unity has led."

Díaz-Canel greeted the Cuban Embassy officials and their families and met with Cubans residing in the Central American country. He assured that the meeting The Nation and Emigration will be held when the current pandemic allows it.

Likewise, the First Secretary of the Party held a meeting with Nicaraguan friends of our country, many of whom studied on the island and who expressed their support for the Cuban Revolution and its leaders.
