Havana, January 10 (RHC)--Nguyen Quang Hung, vice president of the Vietnamese company ViMariel S.A., officially delivered a donation of 100 tons of rice for the Cuban people on Monday.

During the ceremony, held at the headquarters of the Ministry of Domestic Trade -MINCIN-, the vice president of this Vietnamese Corporation within the Mariel Special Development Zone (ZED Mariel) stressed that both peoples have always been side by side at any time, both in war and in peace.

In times of war against the United States, he recalled that the Cuban people helped his country a lot and exemplified among the works delivered the Dong Hoi hospital, which evidences what Commander-in-Chief Fidel Castro said: "For Vietnam, even our own blood," he remarked.

After the war, Cuba has sent specialists and engineers to Vietnam to study and help in different fields such as construction and medicine. Specialists from that Asian nation have studied and supported the Caribbean island in agriculture and construction, among other sectors.

The vice-president of ViMariel S.A. informed that Viglacera Corporation is currently developing two projects in Cuba, one of them mixed, named SANVIG, with two factories of ceramics and sanitary furniture in the municipalities of San José and Santa Cruz del Norte, in the province of Mayabeque.
