Havana, January 28 (RHC)--Cuba ratifies this Friday, January 28, its love for its National Hero, Jose Marti, on the 169th anniversary of his birth.

Cuban President, Miguel Diaz-Canel, recalled on Twitter the words of Fidel Castro when he said: we can tell Martí that today more than ever we need his thoughts, of his ideas, of his virtues,  today more than ever, we are proud to be his most faithful disciples!

The  Marti Program Office and its director, Eduardo Torres Cuevas, described a varied program of activities islandwide.

The tribute aims to disseminate the value and significance of Marti's ideology in the context of Cuban history, to consolidate the national and patriotic conscience and the actual content of his concepts.

Torres Cuevas also announced that starting today until next year, several initiatives will lead to the 170th anniversary of Mart's birth with the celebration from January 24 through January 28  in 2023 of the 5th  International Conference For the Balance of the World.

The Conference will be a forum for plural and multidisciplinary thinking held at Havana's Convention Center. It will raise public awareness about the ills that afflict humanity.

It will focus on the dialogue of civilizations, cultural diversity, the need for solidarity, sustainable development, the role of youth, and the right to self-determination of peoples.
