Nuevitas, February 5 (RHC)-- Commander of the Revolution, Ramiro Valdés Menéndez, Cuba's deputy prime minister, holds a working meeting in this city with executives of companies and entities linked to the investment being carried out in the 26 de Julio Cement Factory, in Camaguey, where he evaluates the progress of this work.
In the meeting, the leader insists on the need to take advantage of the time to comply with the foreseen schedules and to look for local alternatives, so that the transportation from the city of Camagüey of materials for the elaboration of concrete, such as the stone that is brought from the Viet Nam mill, more than 100 kilometers away, can be assured.
Another critical issue is steel, since more than 5,600 tons are still to be placed in the area of the construction site.
Regarding the situation with the lack of qualified personnel, he was informed that they migrate to the works of the key, and in this respect he indicated to look for specialists with experience in any territory, besides reviewing the payment for the results, which is not being fulfilled and is one of the causes of the lack of these specialists, a problem that causes the delays and affects the economy of the country.
In view of these difficulties, Valdés Menéndez called for progress to be made and to make up for the delay in the work, which, he said, is more than a year and a half.
René Mesa Villafaña, Minister of Construction and authorities of the Communist Party of Cuba and the Government in the province of Camagüey and the municipality of Nuevitas also participated in the analysis.
