Havana, May 18 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel held a meeting with executives and journalists from the international television network RT (Russia Today) en Español, visiting the island.

On Twitter, the President expressed his satisfaction at greeting these professionals and said they held a fruitful workshop with the Presidency's communications team to exchange experiences, especially on their work on social media networks.

RT en Español is part of the RT group, which includes nine channels in different languages and formats, and has a notable impact on YouTube with more than 10 billion views.

It is rated as one of the leading sources of alternative information in the West. It often covers topics ignored by other media.

In the wake of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict, several nations suspended RT's signal under the accusation of bias. However, experts have denounced that this action is an effort for the dominance of propaganda and fake news, which are published unilaterally by the United States and Western Europe.

In February 2020, U.S. Navy Admiral and head of the Southern Command, Craig S. Faller, included RT as a global threat to the interests of the United States and its allies.
