Havana, July 18 (RHC) – Palestinian ambassador to Havana Akram Samhan called for reinforced action by international organizations favoring the end of Israeli attacks against Palestinian territories would be crucial to put an end to the massacre of his people.

Israeli forces resumed bombing Thursday morning against the civilian population in the Gaza Strip, thus extending an offensive that has lasted for the past 10 days after claiming 245 lives, including 55 children, said Samhan in a press conference in Havana.

International mediation actions by the United Nations have thus far achieved a five-hour humanitarian ceasefire, which expired today, while Israeli-Palestinian negotiations in Egypt are trying to achieve a larger ceasefire that could be enforced on Friday.

The Palestinian ambassador denounced that Israel has launched over 2 thousand attacks on Gaza with powerful weapons, which destroyed over 700 homes, nine hospitals and three universities.

Israel says it is willing to call a truce while it adds to the accord some points that are not crucial for the Palestinian, and leaves out their fundamental rights and does not tackle any possible lifting of the sea, land and air blockade on Gaza, the diplomat said.
