Havana, July 19 (RHC)-- Cuba will cooperate with the Dominican Republic in the implementation of Regenerative Medicine, which is yet another achievement in cooperation between Caribbean states.
With this purpose, the Public Health Ministry of that country created the National Council of Bioethics in Health (CONABIOS), to regulate, encourage and coordinate scientific research in human beings, announced experts of the island’s Institute of Hematology and Immunology (IHI).
This research work is carried out by way of clinical trials, under the regime of the International Ethical Guidelines for Biomedical Research Involving Human Subjects, of the Council for International Organizations of Medical Sciences.
The members of CONABIOS and the Catholic University of Santo Domingo acknowledged the importance of scientific research in Regenerative Medicine with stem cells, and welcomed exchanges with Cuba, added the source.
With this purpose, the first virtual and introductory meeting, through a video-conference, was held from Havana in order to answer questions of the Dominicans and plan a work schedule.
