Havana, Jun 3 (RHC)-- Low-lying areas of the Cuban capital flooded on Friday due to heavy rains that have been affecting the city since early Friday morning.
Reports and photos from social media users show flooded avenues and even properties.
Streams of water ran down the central avenues of G and Paseo in the neighborhood of Vedado, and 20 de Mayo, in the populous municipality of Cerro.

Meanwhile, the National Institute of Meteorology predicted that the rains would continue in the island's west until Saturday.
The Civil Defense also warned of the danger of greater flooding since the soil is saturated by rainfall in the last few days.
The rains are heaviest on the Isle of Youth, in the south, and the westernmost of Cuba's provinces, Pinar del Río.
In areas of the capital of Pinar del Río, water has entered the second floor of several buildings. At the same time, the Cuyaguateje River is reported to be overflowing, and roads have been cut off.
