Havana, Jun 6 (RHC)-- Cuba maintains the downward trend of Covid-19 cases, an achievement reached by the established hygienic-sanitary measures and the level of immunization of the population with nationally produced vaccines.

Such results are evidenced by the report issued by the Cuban Ministry of Public Health, which informed that in the last 24 hours,  18 people were diagnosed with Covid-19.

With that update, only 137 citizens are ill with Covid-19, and 136 of them have a stable clinical evolution.

Since March 2020, 1 105,461 people have contracted the SARS-CoV-2 virus on the island, while one million 96,736 managed to recover. The disease has killed 8,529 patients.

In this context, MINSAP informed that 7,287,773 people had received the booster dose against Covid-19, which shows the high level of immunization of the Cuban population.

It pointed out that nine million 966,280, 90 percent of the population, have already completed the vaccination schedule.
