Havana, Jun 24 (RHC)-- The 2nd Renewable Energy Fair concluded Friday with the certainty that changing the country's energy matrix towards 100 percent of generation with clean sources is a development path.
The event, held at the Pabexpo exhibition center, brought national and foreign experts, entrepreneurs, national industry, and universities to discuss renewable energy sources (RES) and their prospects on the island.
Among the objectives of the event was the promotion of foreign investment in Cuba with emphasis on solar energy and biomass, as well as promoting their efficient use in local development and in the industrial, service, and residential sectors.
According to the Minister of the Ministry of Energy and Mines, Liván Arronte, the development of the RES is essential in maintaining Cuba's sovereignty.
