Havana, June 24 (RHC)--The president of Cuba's National Assembly of People's Power (Parliament), Esteban Lazo, highlighted the contributions of young people to the country and the importance of their proposals to continue strengthening socialism.

At the National Capitol, the president of the Council of State also spoke with 110 young executives and workers of the Ministries of Domestic Trade, Communications, Transport, and Tourism, from whom he asked for feedback as representatives of the population.

Lazo stressed that in the current context, the island needs the opinions, initiative and collective creativity, and the contribution of the population, especially the new generations, in the face of the blockade imposed by the United States, the Covid-19 pandemic, and other challenges.

We are going to get out of this moment with your contribution, drive, innovation, creative resistance, and popular participation in the face of difficulties," said the head of the Cuban legislature.

According to the Assembly's website, the meeting was also attended by representatives of the permanent working commissions for the attention to Youth, Children, Equal Rights for Women, and Services, in addition to other deputies and representatives of organizations.

The head of Attention to Youth, Children and Women's Equal Rights, Arelys Santana, emphasized that the invitation was in response to the interest of the country's top leadership to encourage debate with the different social sectors.
