Havana, Jun 27 (RHC)-- The Foreign Bank of Cuba and the EximBank of India signed an agreement for a credit line worth 100 million euros as evidence of the positive state of their relations.

In the framework of the Bilateral Political Consultations, Cuban Deputy Prime Minister Ricardo Cabrisas and Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Saurabh Kumar held a meeting aimed at strengthening trade, financial, and cooperation ties.

Both officials agreed on the broad prospects for the growth of bilateral relations, despite the world economy's complex situation.

Cabrisas highlighted India's role in developing sectors such as renewable energy sources, agriculture, and biotechnology, identified as priorities in the Island's National Economic and Social Development Plan.

At the end of the meeting, the president of the national banking entity, Ernesto Medina, and the ambassador of the Asian country in the Caribbean nation, Sarvesvaran Janakiraman, on behalf of the director of EximBank, Nirmit Ved, signed the financial agreement that confirms the common interest in a future of alliances.

On Monday, Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister Anayansi Rodriguez and her Indian counterpart described the Bilateral Political Consultations as fruitful.

They ratified their willingness to strengthen collaboration and exchanged views on issues of common interest on the national and international agenda, the confrontation of the Covid-19 pandemic, and the subsequent economic recovery.
