President Díaz-Canel thanks UNDP for its support to Cuba
Havana, July 8 (RHC)-- President Miguel Díaz-Canel reiterated Friday his gratitude to the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) for the support provided to Cuba in numerous fields.
Through his Twitter account, the president expressed "gratitude for all the support that Cuba has received from the UNDP," which he expressed the day before to the undersecretary general and regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean of that UN entity, Luis Felipe López-Calva, when he received him at the Palace of the Revolution.
During the meeting, Díaz-Canel assured López-Calva that Cuba will meet the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), despite the economic, commercial and financial blockade imposed by the United States.
During his visit to the archipelago, which began on July 4, the UN undersecretary general spoke with ministers, deputy ministers and visited various facilities and communities.
Luis Felipe López-Calva has extensive experience as an academic at prestigious universities around the world and in key management roles in multilateral organizations such as the UNDP and the World Bank.
