Havana, July 18 (RHC)-- The Cuban Foreign Ministry (MINREX) on Monday celebrated the 47th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the Caribbean island and the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia.
We ratify our will to strengthen the historical ties of brotherhood and cooperation between both nations, the Cuban Foreign Ministry said on Twitter.
During his recent tour of African countries, Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez expressed to Ethiopian Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Demeke Mekonnen, his country’s willingness to strengthen bilateral ties based on historic relations of friendship, solidarity, and cooperation.
Both nations celebrate 47 years of diplomatic relations marked by a profound exchange in several fields, including medical collaboration and education.
In 1977, Cuban internationalist troops supported Ethiopia against the aggression initiated by Somalia.
