Havana, Aug 1 (RHC)-- First Deputy Minister of Communications of Cuba (Mincom), Wilfredo Gonzalez, and Japanese Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications (MIC), Yasushi Kaneko, held a dialogue in Tokyo on the strengthening of bilateral cooperation in the sector.

González highlighted the interest of the organization he represents in strengthening ties with his counterpart to exchange priorities identified as very useful for developing infrastructure and public services in the Caribbean country.

He also thanked the MIC for inviting him to participate in a recently concluded Training Workshop on Policy Development for High-Level Officials, during which he explained the government policies, regulations, and challenges of Cuba's Information and Communications Technologies, with emphasis on the process of informatization of society.

For his part, Kaneko recalled several of the working visits made to Cuba, the last of which occurred in 2018 during the celebrations for the 120th anniversary of Japanese migration to the Cuban archipelago.

The head of the Cuban diplomatic mission in Tokyo, Miguel Angel Ramirez, also attended the fraternal exchange.
