Havana, August 14 (RHC)-- The Cuban Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment (Citma) denounced  Sunday attempts by several individuals to destroy the Archive of the People's Court in the municipality of Centro Habana.

Through a statement published on its Facebook profile, the governing body of the National System of Documentary Management and Archives repudiated such acts, "aimed at destabilizing the country," it said.

It also reaffirmed the decision to defend the nation's historical documentary heritage, a reflection of the indestructible work of the Revolution.

The text pointed out that these acts also seek to derail the country's actions as part of the Historical Memory Program.

This initiative aims to preserve documentation of historical value, guarantee the rights of natural persons, and compliance with the duties and obligations of legal entities.

CITMA also recalled that safeguarding archival documents is vital, among other issues, for the resolution and transparency of public actions, as indispensable tools for the optimal functioning of the administration.
