Ottawa, August 18 (RHC) Residents in Montreal and friends of the solidarity movement in Canada have collected a donation of medicines and medical supplies to support the people affected by the worst fire in the history of Cuba.
According to the Havana embassy in Canada, the shipment consists of 512 kilograms of medicines. It accompanies the signs of constant support and concern about the evolution of the events on the island.
In addition, the diplomatic representation expressed its gratitude for the quick response of Cubans living abroad and for people showing solidarity in times of need.
Last August 5, an electrical discharge hit one of the Cuban crude oil deposits at the Matanzas Supertanker Base, which generated a fire of significant proportions and an unprecedented industrial accident.
