Phnom Penh, August 2 (RHC)-- Cuba's First Deputy Foreign Minister Gerardo Peñalver was received Friday by Cambodia's Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister H.E. Prak Sokhonn.

During the fraternal meeting, the parties discussed issues on the bilateral agenda, pondered the historical ties, and expressed the willingness to increase cooperation in health, culture, and sports, among others.

During the meeting in the capital,  Phnom Penh, the Cuban Deputy Foreign Minister expressed his country's gratitude for the traditional position of his country in favor of lifting the U.S. blockade against Cuba in the United Nations General Assembly.

Peñalver also co-chaired the inter-chancellery political consultation meeting with H.E. Mr. Ouch Borith, Secretary of State of the Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and met with Mam Bun Heng, Cambodian Minister of Public Health.

During the exchange, they recognized that Cuban medical collaboration and human resources training had been the fundamental pillars of bilateral relations.
