Havana, September 2 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez held a telephone conversation on Friday with Melanie Joly, Canada's Minister of Foreign Affairs, on the state of bilateral relations between the two countries.

This was announced by the head of Cuban diplomacy on his Twitter account.

In the same social media network, the Canadian minister indicated her country's willingness to contribute to the recovery of the areas affected by the fire at the Matanzas Supertanker Base and to help those affected by the incident.

"I spoke with Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez about the explosion in Matanzas and our support for the recovery efforts. Together, we are working to help people and ensure a robust recovery. I also raised the importance of human rights and economic growth," explained Melanie Joly.

Canada has always shown its support for the resolution that Cuba presents every year at the United Nations for the end of the economic, commercial, and financial blockade imposed by the United States of America against the island.
