Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- Rodrigo Malmierca Díaz, Cuba's Minister of Foreign Trade and Investment, highlighted the potential for developing economic relations with Caribbean and African countries during the Afro-Caribbean Trade and Investment Forum.
As reported by the Procuba site on Twitter, the head of Foreign Trade and Foreign Investment represented the Caribbean island state in the event's first edition, held in Barbados from September 1-3.
At the Forum's Presidential Panel, Malmierca Díaz highlighted his country's historical ties with the Caribbean and Africa and recalled that 2022 marks the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Cuba and Caricom (Caribbean Community), which translates into a more significant commitment to the region.
Also, during his stay in Bridgetown, the senior Cuban official met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Barbados, Jerome Walcott, with whom he noted the excellent state of bilateral relations and the common will to develop them, especially in the economic field and cooperation
