Havana, September 7 (RHC)-- Cuban Foreign Minister Bruno Rodriguez held talks Tuesday with his counterpart from Guinea-Bissau, Susi Carla Barbosa. Both ratified the will to continue developing trade, economic, and cooperation ties.

From his Twitter account, the Cuban foreign minister indicated that during the meeting, both parties showed satisfaction with the good level of political dialogue.

Cuba and Guinea Bissau established diplomatic relations in 1973 and maintained close cooperation in health and human resources training that has allowed thousands of young people from that West African nation to be trained in the Caribbean island in various specialties.

In February this year, the president of the National People's Assembly of Guinea Bissau, Cipriano Cassama, visited the Caribbean nation and highlighted the historical ties between the two peoples.

"Cuba has left us its mark, both doctors and fighters. We will never forget their courage and will never hesitate to be on the side of Cuba and its parliament in the fight to eliminate the blockade. We may have ties with many countries, but cooperation with Cuba is paramount", he assured.
