Havana, Sep 19 (RHC) Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel highlighted the progress of preparations for the legislative referendum on the Family Code, to which voters are summoned next Sunday.
In his Twitter account, the president said that "Cuba is getting ready for the People's Referendum on September 25. This Sunday the voting abroad and the dynamic test throughout the country were carried out satisfactorily. It is estimated that more than 8 million Cubans will go to the polls".
He referred to the dynamic test carried out the day before throughout the country with the purpose of checking the availability of the material and human resources that will be involved in the process.
At the end of this exercise, Alina Balseiro Gutiérrez, president of the National Electoral Council (CEN), explained to the press that the results were satisfactory, both in terms of the opening of the 24,800 polling stations throughout the country, as well as the means of communication and transportation and the preparation of the electoral authorities.
Likewise, she explained that during this week the problems detected, mainly of an organizational nature, should be solved.
Yesterday, voting was carried out in the 123 polling stations opened abroad where diplomatic personnel and Cubans who are in different missions abroad exercised their right to vote.
On the same social media, Díaz-Canel referred to the benefits of the legal text by pointing out that "each family is a particular, unique path, as unique is each person. Families are an expression of the most delicate social fabric. They are like the Homeland, they provide us with identity, civism, solidarity, respect and altruism". (Source: Prensa Latina)
