Havana, Oct 31 (RHC) The First Round of Migratory Talks between Cuba and Argentina took place on Monday in Buenos Aires, in a cordial and cooperative atmosphere.

The Havana Foreign Ministry reported on its website (Cubaminrex) that during the exchange both sides emphasized the importance of guaranteeing a regular, orderly and safe flow of travelers.

Another issue on the agenda of the meeting was the implementation of operational and comprehensive bilateral collaboration mechanisms focused on the migratory and consular areas, which will allow us to effectively address phenomena such as human trafficking and illegal smuggling of migrants.

Through his Twitter, the representative of the Cuban side Ernesto Soberón, general director of Consular Affairs and Cubans Residing Abroad, of the MINREX, explained that in the meeting they analyzed the implementation of joint actions to discourage illegal acts associated with irregular migration.

In the same social network, the Cuban ambassador to Argentina, Pedro Prada, indicated that the meeting will initiate a mechanism of reciprocal trust to ensure the rights of migrants and strengthen the ties between the two countries. (Source: ACN)
