Debates at meeting of Cubans living in Europe are praised

Berlin, Nov 19 (RHC) Cuban Foreign Ministry official Laura Pujol today acknowledged the depth of the debates and proposals of the Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe (ECRE) held in Berlin, a forum that returned to the face-to-face format.

It has been an exciting and very efficient event, due to the breadth of the topics discussed in a single day, which ratified the support for the sovereignty of the island and the condemnation of the blockade imposed by the United States, commented to Prensa Latina the deputy director of the General Directorate of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Residing Abroad (Daccre) of the Foreign Ministry.

The 2022 edition of the Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe, met this Saturday in commissions to address the strengthening of the structure and coordination between associations, the fight against the blockade, the communication work in social networks and the nation-emigration ties.

According to Pujol, the exchanges of criteria underlined the love for the homeland and the willingness to accompany it in its socio-economic life, to participate in society, and to strengthen ties with embassies and consulates.

The deputy director general of the General Directorate of Consular Affairs and Attention to Cubans Residing Abroad considered significant moments of the meeting, the greetings sent to those present by authorities of the island, such as the president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, and the national coordinator of the Committee for the Defense of the Revolution, Gerardo Hernández, among others.

Pujol also highlighted the balance made at the Meeting of Cuban Residents in Europe of the activities of the various associations of Cubans living in Europe in recent years.

The forum will culminate tomorrow at the famous Brandenburg Gate, where an act of solidarity with Cuba and condemnation of the U.S. blockade will take place.
