Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)
Havana, Nov 19 (RHC) Najat Mokhtar, Deputy Director General and Head of the Department of Nuclear Sciences and Applications of the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), begins a visit to Cuba on Saturday.
The Cuban Network of Nuclear Communicators informed that during her stay, which will last until November 25, the high-ranking official will visit several centers that carry out projects with the International Atomic Energy Agency.
Najat Mokhtar will meet with executives of several ministries - among them the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Environment, the Ministry of Public Health, the Ministry of Agriculture, and the Ministry of the Interior, as well as the representation of the United Nations Development Program accredited in Havana.
She will also visit the National Institute of Hygiene, Epidemiology and Microbiology, and the Pedro Kourí Tropical Medicine Institute, both in the Cuban capital.
In the province of Mayabeque, she will visit the National Institute of Agricultural Sciences and the National Center of Agricultural Health, coordinator of the Integrated Measures against Zoonotic Diseases project in the nation, according to a press release from the Cuban News Agency.
At the Center for Environmental Studies in Cienfuegos, she will receive information on the projects and tour the laboratories equipped with the most advanced technologies, thanks to the cooperation with her agency.
Mokhtar was appointed to her post on January 1, 2019, and was previously in charge of the Division for Asia, and the Pacific in the Department of Technical Cooperation. (Source: PL)
