Bayamo, August 11 (RHC) -- On August 13th, Fidel Castro’s 88th birthday, the museum of the city of Bayamo, located in Granma province, will inaugurate a wax figure of Colombian writer Gabriel Garcia Marquez, who was a close friend of the Cuban Revolution leader.
The announcement was made by museum director Ismary Lopez who explained that the figure will be sitting, dressed in white and in a position of meditation.
The museum also treasures the figures of National Hero Jose Marti; the father of the Cuban homeland, Carlos Manuel de Cespedes, outstanding singers and songwriters, and U.S. writer Ernest Hemingway.
The wax figures were made by artist Rafael Barrios and his sons, who live in the Guisa, located in the Sierra Maestra mountain range.
The museum also exhibits figures of the local wildlife and flora in the eastern part of Cuba.
