Havana, Dec 20 (RHC) Kenyan Foreign Minister Alfred Mutua, on an official visit to Cuba, learned on Tuesday about the history of the Fidel Castro Ruz Center, a public institution devoted to the study and dissemination of the thought, work, and life of the leader of the Revolution.

 

During a tour of this place that promotes research, interactive access to knowledge, and the permanent identification of the people with their values, the African minister received detailed information on the architectural and patrimonial values of the building.

 

The day before, the first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel met with the Kenyan minister at the Palace of the Revolution. During the meeting, they ratified the willingness to expand bilateral exchanges, mainly focused on the education and health sectors.

From his Twitter profile, the foreign minister also referred to the dialogue with José Ángel Portal Miranda, Cuba's Minister of Public Health, and alluded to his country's promotion of a universal healthcare system with new areas of cooperation in the pharmaceutical industry, biotechnology, and vaccine development.

 

Havana and Nairobi have maintained diplomatic relations since 1995. At the highest level, they are currently engaged in talks and negotiations to achieve the safe return of two doctors from the island kidnapped in April 2019, in the city of Mandera, near the border with Somalia. (Source: PL)
