Havana, Dec 23 (RHC) The president of the Federation Council of the Russian Federal Assembly (parliament), Valentina Matvienko, congratulated the Cuban people and government on the advent of the 64th anniversary of the triumph of the Revolution.
In a telephone conversation with the head of the National Assembly of People's Power of Cuba, Esteban Lazo, both leaders reviewed the fulfillment of the agreements reached during the recent visit of the Cuban official to the Eurasian nation, reported the legislature of this Caribbean country on its website.
They also agreed on the need to continue consolidating exchanges to contribute to the development and deepening of relations between the two countries.
On November 30, the President of the Council of State met with Matvienko in Moscow, to whom he presented the Order of Solidarity, and spoke before the plenary of Russian deputies.
Such distinction is granted to those persons who have maintained close and friendly relations with Cuba for a long time, and demonstrated their affection and respect through concrete actions, explained Lazo at that time.
For his part, Matvienko expressed that her country is always in favor of strengthening cooperation with the Caribbean nation. (Source: Cuban Parliament)
