The Cuban doctors are located in remote places, where for years there was no medical coverage
Havana, Dec 27 (RHC) A group of 119 Cuban doctors will arrive in Mexico in January 2023 to join the other specialists from the island who work in that country's health institutions, informed Zoé Robledo, director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS).
The official announced the news at the National Palace, during President Andrés Manuel López Obrador's usual morning conference, this Tuesday dedicated to the health sector, in which he said that since July 20, 2022, when the agreement between Cuba and Mexico was signed, 491 specialists have been working in 11 Mexican states, reported Prensa Latina.
The Cuban doctors are located in remote places, where for years there was no medical coverage, providing care in pediatrics, general surgery, family medicine, ophthalmology, nephrology, imaging, intensive care medicine, cardiology and others, said Robledo, who described the collaboration with Cuba as vital.
