Cuba reported an improvement in the national electro-energy situation

Havana, Dec 31 (RHC) Cuban authorities reported an improvement in the electro-energy situation, after several problems that caused interruptions in electricity service during 2022.

According to the daily information provided by the Electrical Union (UNE), for several days the electric power system in the archipelago has been stabilized and the effects due to the generation capacity deficit are minimal.

A report by the correspondent of the teleSUR news multiplatform in Havana highlights that the UNE has notified that Cuba has been without interruptions in the electric service for more than ten days.

In statements to teleSUR news multiplatform, Cuban political analyst Iroel Sánchez stated that the constant aggression of the United States (U.S.) government against the island also affects this sector.

Sánchez pointed out that the U.S. blockade against the island meant that at times neither the fuel nor the resources to maintain the national electricity generation system where available.

Although the energy situation worsened after the passage of Hurricane Ian through the west of the country last September, Cuban authorities have worked to make progress in the recovery of electricity generation capacities, reducing outages.
