Havana, August 15 (RHC) -– Five young members of a symbolic initiative called 'Bicicletazo' (cycling route) dedicated to the Cuban anti-terrorists unfairly imprisoned in United States, departed from a Havana park using the slogan 'I want you free'.
On Friday, the cyclists arrived at the Julio Antonio Mella International Camp in Artemisa after a 25 km route. They met with other young people and talk to relatives of the Cuban Five still held in US prisons.
The itinerary included a stopover at Cacahual Monument to honor independence struggle General Antonio Maceo y Grajales and will end with a closing ceremony for the Sixth Foreign Students Brigade visit to Cuba.
Fernando González, vice-president of the Cuban Institute of Friendship with the People and one of the Five who has returned to Cuba, thanked the members of the cycling event for their gesture on behalf of his brothers. The initiative is a new contribution to the national and international campaign for the return of the three who are still being held in prison.
