Havana, January 18 (RHC)-- Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez received on Wednesday the Hungarian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade, Péter Szijjártó, who began an official visit to our country.

We reaffirmed our willingness to continue strengthening bilateral relations. We exchanged on the potentialities to diversify the links between both countries in sectors of mutual interest, the president published on his Twitter account.

The head of the Hungarian diplomacy arrives in this capital for the second time since his appointment, and is part of a tour of several countries in the American continent.

A note from the Cuban Foreign Ministry said he was received by Angel Villa Hernandez, director a.i. of Bilateral Affairs, and Gisela Garcia Rivera, director of Europe and Canada of the Cuban Foreign Ministry.

During his stay, H.E. Peter Szijjártó is expected to hold official talks with his Cuban counterpart, Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez Parrilla.

In September last year, Szijjártó met at the United Nations with Foreign Minister Bruno Rodríguez, during the 77th session of the General Assembly.

On that occasion, agreements were signed for diplomatic and educational training and both parties also ratified their willingness to strengthen bilateral political dialogue and promote economic, trade, investment and cooperation ties.
