Cuban President analyzes the economic strategy in Holguin

Havana, Jan 20 (RHC) The first secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Cuba and president of the Republic, Miguel Díaz-Canel analyzed Friday the potential and positive experiences of the eastern province of Holguín, included in his socioeconomic development strategy for 2023.

 

During a meeting with political and governmental authorities of the territory, peasants, producers, and entrepreneurs, the dignitary learned about key issues of the region, including the progress of tourism, nickel production, and the link with academia.

 

Díaz-Canel spoke with Carlos Alberto Pozo, a cattle farmer from the municipality of Calixto García, who explained how his work has improved as a result of the implementation of the 63 measures aimed at increasing food production.

 

For his part, the delegate of the Ministry of Tourism in Holguin, Francisco Suarez emphasized the gradual recovery of that destination, the most important in the eastern region, as it has more than 7,500 rooms arranged in 106 facilities, mostly four and five stars.

 

During the meeting, the prime minister of the Republic, Manuel Marrero Cruz reflected on the importance of working differently this year to transform the economy and social life in one of the most populated provinces of the nation.

 

The cycle of high-level meetings in the eastern region began the day before in Guantánamo, Santiago de Cuba, and Granma, where the possibilities of each of these demarcations to face the complex economic scenario during this year were also evaluated. (Source: Prensa Latina)
